About Us

Newbury Junior Netball Club was formed in 1990 by a group of local players concerned at the lack of young players coming through to play in the Newbury Netball League.

Newbury Juniors celebrated its 25th year in 2015 and this was our first Under 11 and Under 12 Tournament at Park House School.  We coach girls from the age 10 to 16 years old with Under 11, Under 12, Under 13, Under 14 and Under 16 Squads. Our qualified coaches run the weekly club training night on Tuesday and Thursday evenings:

Tuesday evenings

Under 12 - Train at St Gabriel's School in the Sports Hall from 6.15-7.45pm

Under 13 - Train at Park House School Sports Hall 6-7.30pm

Under 14 - Train at Park House School Sports Hall 7.30-9pm

Thursday evenings

Under 11 - Train at Park House Sports Hall from 6-7.30pm

Under 16 - Train at Park House Sports Hall from 7.30-9pm

Our aim as a club is to give girls the opportunity to play netball.  All teams Under 11s, Under 12s, Under 13s, Under 14s and Under 16s all play competitive netball in the Berkshire Junior Netball League.  We also enter tournaments throughout the year.

The club is England Netball Bronze CAPS (Club Action Planning Scheme) accredited. Which is currently under review.

This award recognises good practice, a commitment to development and duty of care. It is recognised by the governing body and Sport England. We encourage a healthy attitude to winning and losing and the club expects this from all players, parents and officials. You can read the England Netball Equity Statement below.

The training venue is either at Park House School, Andover Road, Newbury or St Gabriel's School Newbury.

Our Annual Fees are £120 plus the cost of the kit. The England Netball fees will have to be paid separately now due to the new Engage system.

England Netball is fully committed to the principles of equality of opportunity and is responsible for ensuring that no job applicant, employee, volunteer or registered participant receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, language, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or marital status, pregnancy, religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference, gender reassignment or political belief.

BRONZE CAPS AWARD

England Netball's Club Action Planning Scheme (CAPS) is aligned to the Sport England Clubmark accreditation scheme which is the only national cross sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards. Clubs achieving this accreditation are recognised nationally as having a well-run club which is ACTIVE and ACCESSIBLE. This means getting the best out of young people and giving everyone a sporting chance. CAPS has three levels of accreditation Bronze, Silver and Gold: Bronze CAPS is the first level, incorporating the Clubmark criteria and covers the areas of safeguarding and protecting children, quality coaching and officiating, equal opportunities and good management.
